Cherry blossom (sakura) gallery

Cherry blossom (sakura) gallery

Hopefully these photos will give you a little taster of the cherry blossom in Japan. There is also some information at the end of the gallery about where and when the photos were taken.
P.S. You can click on each photo to make it bigger and scroll through them that way too.

Setting the scene for this photo gallery

  • What: Japan is known for its iconic chery blossom (called “sakura” in Japanese) and it is hard to imagine spring in Japan without the iconic cherry blossom.

  • Where: These photos are from several spots around Tokyo including around the Imperial Palace, Shinjuku Gyoen, Inokashira Park, Nakameguro, our neighbourhood and the cherry blossom we can see from our balcony.

  • Why: Cherry blossom is spectacular and we went a bit ballistic (ok, it was mainly me) taking photos during the cherry blosson season this year and took several hundred, actually thousands, of photos of the cherry blossom across Tokyo, and I thought I might as well share some!

  • When: End of March 2018.
